Outreach Week 4

Slowly we have become routine in our work.

The kids had a small performance at a senior citizens 'Christmas party and I kept one, Devotion' (contemplative speech) at the Crafts Group (consisting mainly of older ladies).

for the 2nd December we were supposed to help a Christmas party in Aranui, a poorer district. It is organized by a doctor's office, which runs here but as a small health center and can not be compared with our practices. It is led by a Christian couple doctors who focus their practice, especially for poorer people. These sometimes come from far and consist mainly of Maoris. The environment is a pretty rough patch, graffiti everywhere, aggressive slogans on the walls, broken glass, neglected backyards. If you would see in a movie, you'd think he was taken up in a bad neighborhood in New York. In addition to the health center has Richard Youth Center. A missionary who has taken over 10 years to be recognized in this passage of Maori-dominated district. He said that for years he and his transit in the streets of this district was parked, hidden in the trunk and prayed. Today he is recognized and even protected by the gangs. Unfortunately, some of his charges slip back into crime, but there are also some where the button comes up and choose a life with God. Some of us want to see how it will implement the youth work, for me, unfortunately, is the time to close, I can help at least in the Aufäumen and digging in his backyard.

On Sunday after church we threw back the letter and the survey form in households of three other streets. These are houses of the lower middle class and we had a much better idea as in the wealthier area. Let's see how the reaction will be when we knock on doors next Thursday.

On our day off we drove to Hanmer Springs to the hot pools, enjoying the beautiful scenery and relaxed us in hot water (up to 39 degrees).

Outreach Week 2 and 3 The first

In the second week on Tuesday we designed a so-called, after-school club. The schools close here at 15:00 and the club we want to give children the opportunity to have to play a little, until their parents come home. At first it was not easy to deal with the different characters and ages (5 to 10). Some children from difficult backgrounds here that do not take it with the discipline for sure. We have divided our group into two teams of two families, one team has the responsibility for these kids club, our team make the speech during the so-called Group Crafts, a craft group with mainly older ladies. During this time there is also a nursery (the grandmothers or mothers bring children of preschool age and can tinker undisturbed while - often go both parents work) and our task It is also to look after the children.
I have already found two special friends: Marisa, Danielle, both four years old and love to herumzuturnen on me.
We also make a survey for the church in the neighborhood. Here one can understand how well does a representative if he knocks on external doors. Not all people are friendly and make them pop the door when they hear the word 'church'. Not an easy ground, it's the people in this area quite well, as seen also in the houses. Let's see how it will look in the poorer area.
On Friday it means above all prayer and preparation for the services. On Saturday morning evangelism is at the center or on the beach on the plan.
On Sunday, we help the community with the teen group and prayer marches (in particular, to prepare for the polls).
Monday is free. In order to prepare Sabine feel at home, we took a gondola (Doppelmayr - Made in Austria) on a mountain (hill) at Christ Church and walked around a bit.
The challenge for us in outreach, especially in organization and management of Downs - not everything works out as one might have desired. Communication is also a big issue.
That's life!

Glory Holes In Orlando

Outreachwoche

On the first day of our stay, we helped the Parklands Baptist Church at a so-called 'Light Party', an anti-Halloween party, by a small theater piece performed. Furthermore, we also participated in the "Crafts Group" part, a craft-morning, attended by vorranging old people. Our task is, during the Morning Tea to bring a small contribution to network with people contact and cooperate in child-crib during this time.

On Friday Wolfgang went to Sunday with the other men of the team on, Men's Camp "of the church, a men's free time on a YMCA camp on the, Banks Peninsula" at Christ Church with about 30 men. It was a good opportunity for the men of the Baptist church to know about men's issues and share, to encourage each other and a common vision for the proceeding to . Develop The women meanwhile remained in the camp and visited on Sunday the church service.

On Monday, we always have our day and we strolled a bit on the, Cathedral Square 'around in the inner city.

We were glad that we first had a break, because now it really starts!

On the way to Christchurch

On Friday at 15:00 we were on our way. Our first stop was south of Lake Taupo in Taurangi, about 200 km from Matamata. On Saturday we went to the southern part of the North Island, the capital Wellington. There was pretty much the wind and the rain especially at night more, as would probably be by ferry? A week before, took the trip because of a storm instead of the usual three hours only 9 hours!

On Sunday the weather was somewhat better, but still I was (Wolfgang) as inveterate landlubber something bad. Despite rain and wind I found it so comfortable on deck. If the ferry approaching the South Island, travels it about 1 hour through the so-called Queen Charlotte Sound, a widely drawn and fairly rugged fjord, unfortunately, we saw little of it because of bad weather.

Promptly at 17:00 we arrived in Picton and made our way to our accommodation.

The next day we walked the winding road to Christchurch (340 km) down. To the curves and bumps even a strong wind came about by our car shook pretty. Unfortunately, the stomach of our Hanna was pretty shaken, so much so that he is even in the car empty.

pretty exhausted (and annoyed), we finally arrived at our campsite at around 16:30 in Christchurch, where we met our other team members.

The accommodation was first of all a disappointment, we had actually presented two rooms here, there was only a dark, large room with kitchenette and small by about 2 m high, open top wall bounded bedrooms and a Bad. Here we should therefore take two months. Well, why should we have towards our friends from other operations team an advantage, because they're flown to the Philippines and there are not a luxury. The next day saw the world not so bad, But like the next time.
