The themes of these weeks were Strong Families and Divorce and Re-Marriage. Larry Ballard, International Director of Family Ministries knew very well to tell us these issues.
1985, conducted a study in the USA at 14 000 families to determine what constitutes a 'strong' family. The results were the following six principles: first
The liability, or the commitment Kommitment to / in the family
second Special quality time together
third Positive communication
4th Expression of appreciation and gratitude that one appreciates
5th The ability to resolve conflicts constructively
6th A spiritual obligation (God in the center)
Otherwise we do at the weekend not much, we're pretty stocked up with journal writing and Assignment, and the research paper (thesis) has us in its grip. A few times we have drove to the Beach in Mount Maunganui, one with a few classmates. The children were trained in Body-surfing with small surf boards, but they shy away from the mid stay, long 'directions of an hour and would rather stay home and play.
Thus we see that the time is ripe for a return. So we have decided not to make the outreach in Samoa, but on 20 April to fly back to stay for two days with our friends in San Francisco, so we finally arrive at 23.04.2007 in Munich. The outreach, we will then perform at home, we have one year to meet the appropriate standards.
